After looking through the website, I found this website very helpful to learn and understand some of the basic concepts that go into making a movie. The only video I have ever made was a simple one-shot interview video that did not have too much detail added besideds titles and such. This website allowed me to understand the process as a whole.
Also, since I am going to be a teacher someday, I feel like this will be a helpful tool that my students will be able to use to learn the movie making process. I think a video assignment would be a great idea for the kids to do because they will be able to interact with each other, and learn while being creative. There could be many fun assigments that can be done with children using movie making. This website will definately help them learn the steps.
My favorite movie since I was younger has been "The Goonies". I think the main reason I like it is the story line and the characters. It is about a group of boys that go on a little journey to hunt for the legendary pirate's treasure so they can save their families house. The different scenes like the caves and lagoons and how they were shot make the movie more interesting. It is an overall fun movie.
When it comes to movies, I'm not too hard to please, and I like almost everything, but I recently saw the movie "Running with Scissors" this last weekend. This movie was about a boy who has a crazy mother who's therapist was a bit on the crazy side as well. The boy ended up being adopted by the therapist and lived with his odd family in his strange and messy house. I appreciated the movie, and I felt that it was well made, but I thought the story line was very weird and a bit depressing. The characters were all crazy and had messed up lives, and the plot was a little to weird for me as well. The lighting in the film was always dimmed and the mood always seemed to depress me. I guess I would consider myself a pretty happy person, so I don't think my personality matched with this movie. I did, on the otherhand, find it funny in a strange kind of way.

I agree with you about the Movie website, it was very helpful and easy to understand. I too love Goonies...it is a classic. Everytime I catch it on TV I have to watch it. It is interesting to see another point of view when it comes to Running with Scissors. I agree that it is very depressing. I personally loved the movie. I thought there was so much more going on, more on a psychological level. I agree it is definately a "Dark Comedy" like "it's funny, but you shouldn't be laughing" type of thing.
I agree with you that the website is very helpful in understanding the basics of making a movie! I could see that it would be a website that kids could easily understand, making it a good teaching tool.
The Goonies is a classic! Great movie! It has been quite a while since i have seen it so i can't really comment on the camera angles and that stuff but it is a truly great movie. And I have not seen at least 1 movie on everybodys blog, so I guess that i won't waste the money on renting "Running with Scissors" because i'm not a fan with those dark and depressing movies.
I love the Goonies! haha But I do agree, it does have a good plot. And about the other movie....i wouldn't wanna watch a depressing movie.
